On Saturday, 8/20, hundreds of cyclists from near and far will race down the streets of West Chester for the Iron Hill Twilight Bike Series. Amateur races begin at 8a and exciting activities to entertain whole family will be held throughout the day. The day culminates with the final race at 8:00p, where nationally ranked professionals take on the 0.6-mile course in downtown West Chester.
To celebrate the races, local businesses band together to throw the Market Street Block Party, which kicks off at 4p. Make sure to stop by for great food, live music, and family fun. At 4:30p, even the most elementary of bikers can participate in the Trike Challenge, where awards are given out for fastest times, best costumed rider, and most tricked-out trike.
Other happenings include the kids race, the men and women’s’ amateur races, a Kids Zone with an obstacle course, slide, and more, and a Community Festival where event sponsors provide activities and giveaways.
