Beginning, Monday, December 14, 2020, the City Trolley Tunnel will be closed during overnight hours to allow time for crews to perform maintenance work and deep cleanings at stations.
The closure will be in effect from midnight to 5AM - seven days a week - until further notice.
The service impact for most customers should be minimal.
Trolleys will continue to operate on their regular routes to-and-from stops throughout Southwest and West Philadelphia during the tunnel closure.
If you are traveling during the overnight hours, you will need to transfer to/from Market-Frankford Line trains or overnight Owl buses at 40th Street Station for travel to/from Center City.
With the tunnel closed during these overnight hours, SEPTA crews will be able to do track and wire repairs and other maintenance tasks. The time will also be utilized to power wash and deep clean stations, furthering the enhanced cleaning program that SEPTA has put into place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
