South by Southwest® dedicates itself to helping creative people achieve their goals. Founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas, SXSW® is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of tech, film, music, education, and culture.
An essential destination for global professionals, the annual March event features sessions, music and comedy showcases, film screenings, exhibitions, professional development, and a variety of networking opportunities.
SXSW proves that the most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together.
SXSW is a unique event in that they select speakers with significant community input. Specifically, the decision for acceptance is based on three criteria: community voting (30%), advisory board input (40%), and SXSW staffers (30%).
SEPTA teamed up with Mural Arts Philadelphia’s innovative Color Me Back program to submit a session at the 2023 SXSW Conference & Festivals [March 10-19, 2023] to share how art is a catalyst for change to create healthier, stronger, and more beautiful communities. Mural Arts Founder and Executive Director Jane Golden, Mural Arts Porch Light Program Director Nadia Malik, and SEPTA General Manager/CEO Leslie Richards hope to discuss the power of art to create employment opportunities and beautiful spaces in our communities.
SXSW values community input and involvement. The two-step online process PanelPicker® was developed to encourage the SXSW community to enter proposals and have a powerful voice in Conference programming. The SXSW community can then browse proposals, leave comments, and vote to help shape the March event.
Community voting helps to determine the programming, and we welcome your support by voting for our session via PanelPicker. It’s quick and easy to vote. Create a free PanelPicker account and vote for our session using your email address. Create an account using this link. Find our session here.
We appreciate your time and support! Feel free to share with your friends and networks!
