SEPTA is transforming trolleys to meet the needs of riders today and tomorrow – that means easier to use and faster service for everyone. SEPTA will be engaging communities at many events in September, culminating with a Transit Talk on 9/24 at 6:30pm. For a list of events click the link: https://planning.septa.org/get-involved/.
SEPTA will give an overview everything going into modernizing the system: new, longer vehicles; new on-street stations; infrastructure and operational improvements; and proposed line extensions. This presentation will have a particular focus on trolley station design.
5,000+ people took the Trolley Modernization survey online, at transit centers, festivals and neighborhoods events over the summer. Providing vital feedback to SEPTA about station spacing, roadway redesign, trolley-only lanes, trolley traffic signal prioritization, and more.
This feedback is being incorporated into the trolley station designs.
At the 9/24 Transit Talk, you will get the chance to hear about station amenities, typologies, and conceptual designs, and voice your opinion on the trolley shelter and station designs, as well as learn about next steps and future public involvement opportunities.
