Organized by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), #SavePublicTransit Day shines the light on the dire financial crisis facing the public transportation industry and urge elected officials to take immediate action.
On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, SEPTA joins public transit systems across the country in urging Congress to #SavePublicTransit. Here's just a few reasons why:
Essential workers in our region need public transit to get to jobs in hospitals and grocery stores.
The economy can’t recover without public transit services.
77% of American voters support emergency funding for public transportation so that front line workers can get to jobs and to help the economy recover.
74% of American voters approve of the new Administration and Congress taking action to fix the public transportation infrastructure crisis facing our nation.
Congressional leaders and the Administration need to enact emergency transit funding legislation before Congress adjourns for the year so that they don’t leave residents of our region without essential transit service.
Please join us. Urge Congress to act NOW by posting #SavePublicTransit on social media on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
