The sale of prepaid Regional Rail paper tickets – single & 10 trip – ended October 1, 2020. These tickets are valid for 180 days from the date stamped on the back of the ticket - which means the last date they could be valid is March 31, 2021.
We will stop accepting these tickets on Regional Rail trains and at the turnstiles at the Center City Regional Rail Stations on Friday, April 2, 2021.
If you haven't already - now's the time to make the switch to SEPTA Key. A SEPTA Key card is reusable, reloadable, and replaceable (if you lose it - just make sure it's registered).
You can pay as you go with Travel Wallet which is a contactless alternative to paper tickets and cash. And when you use Travel Wallet to ride Regional Rail - you always pay the lowest fare.
You can also load a Weekly (56 rides) or Monthly (240 rides) TrailPass - which offer the best value for daily riders. Or a One Day Independence Pass (10 rides).
All of these fare options - Travel Wallet, TrailPass, and the One Day Independence are good on Regional Rail and Transit (bus, trolley, subway/elevated).
And you can always use cash but if you're paying cash on the train - you will not enjoy the benefit of a discounted fare.
Customers with paper tickets can return them to SEPTA for a refund. Refund requests can be mailed to:
