On your marks, get set, go! Are you prepared for this year’s Philadelphia Marathon Weekend? The 28th Annual Philadelphia Marathon Weekend is THIS WEEKEND - November 19 & 20!
If you need to be somewhere on Saturday and/or Sunday morning - now is the perfect time to plan and prep to utilize alternate routes due to road closures and parking restrictions.
Those on the road should also be aware of heightened security on the Parkway and should expect parking and traffic regulations to be strictly enforced.
People in the area - whether running in the race or attending as a spectator - are asked to proceed with caution for everyone’s safety.
To avoid delays and heavy traffic in Center City - transit riders are encouraged to use the Broad Street Line, Market Frankford Line, trolleys, and Regional Rail if possible.
If you are participating in one of the races - traveling with SEPTA is a great way to ensure you arrive at the starting line on time! Nearby stations include 15th Street on the Market-Frankford Line, City Hall on the Broad Street Line, 15th Street Station for Trolley Routes 10, 11, 13, 34, and 36; and Suburban Station for Regional Rail lines. The walk to the start is a great warm-up!
Please be aware there will be detours on the following routes on November 19 & 20:
Routes K-12
Routes 16-31
Routes 32-47
Routes 47M-125
Come out and support thousands of runners and enjoy fun educational events throughout the weekend.
