Hello SEPTA Rider! It’s Leslie here with a new location and this week we’re headed to Chestnut Hill! Chestnut Hill is a neighborhood in Philadelphia that is lined with historic mansions and Victorian townhouses and is also widely known as the Garden District. Chestnut Hill is home to the Morris Arboretum and Chestnut Hill College.
Chestnut Hill is also home to one of our very own Perk Partners, The Bone Appetite. The Bone Appetite is a neighborhood pet supply store and grooming salon located on Germantown Ave, right in the heart of Chestnut Hill. The Bone Appetite mission is all about pleasing pet owners and their furry friends by offering a wide selection of products and services.
As a proud dog mom, I was very excited about this trip and couldn’t wait to check out new goodies for my fur baby.
For this adventure, the mode of transportation was Regional Rail. I looked up the timetable pdf for the Chestnut Hill West Line and Chestnut Hill East Line to check the times for the next arriving trains, then headed to Jefferson Station. The next train headed out to Chestnut Hill was the West Line. When I arrived, I checked the arrival board to confirm which track to go to. I tapped on, went down to the platform, and waited patiently until the train arrived.
This was a 45-minute ride as the Chestnut Hill West Station is the last stop, so I took this time to relax and listen to some music.
When the train came to its final stop, I thanked the Conductor and exited the train. I checked my phone’s GPS to see how far the pet store was and it was only a few steps away.
Soon as I entered the store, I felt like I was in a pet lovers’ wonderland. There were handmade treats on display, an array of adorable pet outfits to shop, an enormous selection of collars, leashes, and leads to choose from. There were so many products in stock to meet the needs of any pet. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was not leaving empty-handed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I could see why this store is the number 1 pet store in Chestnut Hill.
After doing a little light shopping at Bone Appetite, I decided to head back to the train station and take a few pictures of the scenery on the way there.
Lucky for me, when I arrived at the station a train was already stationed at the track and was not leaving for another 10 minutes. I tapped on, boarded the train, popped in my headphones, and prepared myself for another peaceful ride back to Center City.
If you use Travel Wallet on your SEPTA Key card, the cost of a one-way trip from Center City to Chestnut Hill on Regional Rail is $4.75 on weekdays and $4.25 on weekends. It is also important to always remember to wear a face-covering when riding ANY SEPTA mode.
If you’re like me and you want nothing but the best for your four-legged best friend, then look no further than the Chestnut Hill gem, The Bone Appetite. It’s worth the trip and, of course, SEPTA would be the BEST way to go!
