SEPTA Alert! New Year’s Holiday Service Changes

SEPTA will operate additional rail service on New Year’s Eve therefore providing additional travel options for customers. A number of bus detours will also be in effect on New Year’s Day to accommodate the Mummers Parade.

Full SEPTA holiday travel information is posted online here. Below is a summary of SEPTA’s New Year's Eve and New Year's Day Service Plan.

Saturday, 12/31 – New Year’s Eve: SEPTA will operate enhanced late-evening schedules on the Broad Street Line, Market-Frankford Line, and Regional Rail to accommodate New Year's Eve travel.

Regional Rail Trains will operate on a regular Saturday schedule on Saturday, 12/31 (New Year's Eve), with special late night service. Please look for signage posted at Stations or download this PDF.  The late night New Year's Eve schedule includes added service to Chestnut Hill, Fox Chase, Elwyn, Lansdale, Malvern, Trenton/NJ Transit-New York, Norristown, Trenton and Warminster.

The Market Street/Convention Center entrance to Jefferson Station will remain open until 2a to accommodate customers returning from New Year’s Eve fireworks. Regional Rail ticket windows at 30th Street, Suburban and Jefferson Stations will remain open until 2a, and then reopen at 8a on Sunday, 1/1.

Broad Street and Market-Frankford Line trains will operate all-night service on New Year's Eve. Additional trains will operate as follows for events at Penn's Landing (6:00p and midnight fireworks):

Broad Street Line: Three additional trains will depart Fern Rock Transportation Center at: 4:10p, 4:20p and 4:30p.

Market Frankford Line: Three additional trains will depart 69th Street Transportation Center (4:05p, 4:15p and 4:25p) and Frankford Transportation Center (4:10p, 4:20p and 4:30p).

Sunday, 1/1 - New Year's Day:  All SEPTA services will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. Due to the Mummers Parade which marches on Broad Street between Washington Avenue and City Hall, many SEPTA Bus Routes will operate on a temporary detour. Please check System Status or follow @SEPTA_Bus throughout the day for any changes or updates to service information.
