In November 2002 - SEPTA marked a significant milestone of the Market-Frankford Line - the 100th Anniversary of the Frankford section of the MFL.

To continue the celebration - we're hosting a Book Signing event on Wednesday, December 14 from 11AM-1PM at The SEPTA Transit Store located in the lobby of SEPTA Headquarters (1234 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA).
Railroad historian and author Harry Garforth will sign copies of his new book - Frankford’s Elevated Railway and Its Predecessors - available for purchase from The SEPTA Transit Store.
Frankford’s Elevated Railway and Its Predecessors is a cooperative effort by the author, The Historical Society of Frankford, and the Philadelphia chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. The book features contains numerous previously unpublished from HSF's extensive photograph collection.
In recognition of the centenary anniversary of the Frankford El - Frankford’s Elevated Railway and Its Predecessors is a beautiful and informative book which traces the history of rail transportation in Frankford leading to the construction and operation of the Frankford El and should be of interest to Northeast Philadelphia residents and rail enthusiasts alike!
