Public transportation is essential for creating opportunity and for building a more sustainable region. We remain committed to delivering safe, reliable, and accessible service that meets the changing needs of our customers. This includes requiring all riders and SEPTA employees to wear masks [correctly] š· on vehicles and in stations and practicing social distancing when possible.
SEPTA has been closely monitoring news reports about COVID-19 and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website for information and updates. We are actively engaged with state health authorities, the City of Philadelphia and the City Health Department. We are also communicating with peer transit agencies to share information about preventive measures and best practices for operational procedures.
Right now, the best thing everyone can do - along with wearing a mask - is to familiarize themselves on best ways to fight all types of respiratory illnesses, the flu, and colds - starting with common sense hygiene practices like covering coughs or sneezes with your elbow and washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Together, we ride on.
