On Thursday, February 25, 2021, Mask Force Philly volunteers - including customer advocates from from SEPTA and PATCO - will continue their joint efforts to promote health and safety by encouraging mask compliance to combat the spread of COVID-19 at 8th Street Station on the Market-Frankford Line and PATCO High Speed Line.
The teams will be there from 11am-1pm handing out cloth masks - compliments of the FTA and sponsored by Martin Law [more info below] - to those who need one (or an extra), as well as hand sanitizer, and printed "safety tips" cards that describe all the tactics SEPTA has implemented to fight the virus.
Wearing a mask or another facial covering in public and specifically on public transit, is quite simply the best thing any of us can do. Next to the vaccine - it’s the single most powerful weapon we have against the virus. It greatly reduces the risk to you, your friends, your co-workers and your loved ones, as well as many others that you do not know that you encounter daily in stores and elsewhere.
Most SEPTA riders are on board with the mask requirement – compliance is consistently over 90 percent – and this effort aims to keep everyone vigilant moving forward.
Thanks to Martin Law - the Mask Force Philly message will be amplified via an advertising campaign on buses, platforms, and in stations. As one of the largest law firms in Pennsylvania, Martin Law focuses on getting workers back to work and keeping workers protected. Keeping riders safe and protected happens to be SEPTA's goal - too!
