King of Prussia Rail Webinar

King of Prussia Rail (KOP Rail) is SEPTA’s proposed extension of the Norristown High Speed Line (NHSL) to KOP. The NHSL currently provides service between 69th Street Transportation Center and Norristown Transportation Center, serving the Main Line area in Delaware and Montgomery Counties, and Center City Philadelphia. A rail connection to King of Prussia is a critical need in our region’s transportation system. It will connect Center City, University City, and King of Prussia - Delaware Valley’s three largest employment centers - in 45 minutes, less than a typical trip on the Schuylkill Expressway. The extension has five planned stations, all of which will be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Refinements since 2017 include detailed engineering analysis of the rail alignment and guideway design, minor modifications to station locations and designs, initial assessments of potential property and environmental impacts, studies of rail operations, and other details. These design refinements are the direct result of community input, comments at the public hearings and other stakeholder meetings, coordination with affected property owners, engineering criteria, and continued review of the existing land use and future development opportunities.
This webinar will be of particular interest to Upper Merion Township residents, employers and employees in King of Prussia, and current Norristown High Speed Line riders.
