Our friends at the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) are working on a comprehensive transit study and action plan to increase access and improve the experience of getting to and from the Delaware River waterfront and the many new parks, trails, destinations, and developments that are drawing more and more people every day.
The plan will focus on improving transit service along the waterfront, enhancing the public realm surrounding transit stops, and transforming Delaware Avenue/Columbus Boulevard from a heavily-traveled auto-centric corridor to a walkable, urban street that offers a pleasant experience for those arriving on foot, by bicycle, and by public transportation.
This summer, they’re conducting surveys to learn about who comes to the waterfront, why they visit, and how they get here… but they also want to hear from people who aren’t at the waterfront so that they can better understand how improvements to the transit system and alternative modes of travel might encourage you to explore the waterfront. So if you:
Don’t live within an easy walking distance of the Delaware River waterfront,
Haven’t visited the Delaware River waterfront in a while,
Haven’t taken public transit to get to the waterfront, or
Haven’t checked out the events and attractions yet
they’d love to hear from you! Please take this 10-minute online survey, and you will be entered to win one of two prizes: a $100 gift card or a hammock lounge rental at Spruce Street Harbor Park Sustained by Univest for you and up to 15 friends – drink tickets provided to cover your first round!
