This week we are staying in the ‘burbs to explore SEPTA’s Route 112, which ranks as number 19 on the Suburban Transit Routes Ridership Rankings. It may not be SEPTA’s busiest route, but it makes getting to key spots in Delaware County much easier. On a typical weekday, SEPTA’s Route 112 travels 536 miles and carries 1,299 passengers.
Originally referred to as Route F, the 112 was renamed in 1975. In 2011, service on this route was streamlined to operate only on West Chester Pike between 69th Street Transportation Center and Broomall. The 112 originally traveled to the Lawrence Park Shopping Center, but was replaced by the 126.
Are you a student at Delaware County Community College? The 112 has a stop on campus! Even better, nonstop express service is offered between 69th Street Transportation Center and DCCC on weekdays. SEPTA’s Route 112 connects with 18 bus routes at 69th Street TC, as well as the Market-Frankford Line, Norristown High Speed Line and the Route 101 and 102 trolleys.
