Attention Regional Rail riders! Did you know there's a QuietRide Car on all weekday trains between 4a and 7p? The first car of trains with three or more cars will be your QuietRide. So if you're looking for some peace and quiet during your daily commute, head to the first car!
Although the QuietRide Car isn’t new to Regional Rail, we have a few reminders for our riders:
- Cell phones cannot be used for making calls. Text and other notifications must be set to vibrate or mute.
- All other electronic devices but be placed on vibrate or mute.
- Earphones must be used to listen to music with the volume at a level where others cannot hear it.
- Conversations with other passengers should be short and conducted in a whisper.
Here's an example of what not to do in the QuietRide car:

Seating in the QuietRide Car is offered on a first come, first served basis. If seating is unavailable, please take a seat in another car. SEPTA has a Cell Phone Courtesy program that covers all cars and we ask customers to be considerate of others. Set phones on vibrate or mute, limit cell phone usage, keep conversations brief, and speak using your "inside voice".
Happy [quiet] riding!
PS. In the event of extreme weather or other operational conditions it may be necessary to suspend the QuietRide car designation for a specific train(s). On-board announcements will be made advising customers.
